Azerbaijani parliament discusses raising monetary allowances for servicemen

Head of the Legal Department of the Ministry of Defence Elchin Aliyev has said that the monetary allowance of servicemen in Azerbaijan will be increased by 210-220 manats ($123-129).

He made the remarks at parliament’s committee meeting on Labor and Social Policy during the first reading of the draft amendments to the laws “On the Status of Servicemen”, “On Approval of the Regulation on Military Service”, “On Labor Pensions” and “On Military Duty and Military Service”, Report informs.

According to him, the Finance Ministry is currently considering the issue: "We also want the monetary allowance of servicemen to increase in the near future. This issue will definitely be resolved."

During the discussions, the MPs made a proposal to increase servicemen's allowances.
