Azerbaijani President highlights strategic importance of Mount Farrukh “The flag of Azerbaijan is now flying there”
“Look how many reservoirs were occupied. Khudafarin is the largest reservoir with water reserves of 1.6 billion cubic meters, Giz Galasi, Sugovushan, Khachyn, Kondalanchay-1, Kondalanchay - 2, Ashaghy Kondalanchay, Aghdamkand - these reservoirs were under occupation. Now we are restoring them. We will continue to restore”.
The remarks were made by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on April 12 during a meeting dedicated to the results of the first quarter of 2022, Caliber.Az reports referring to the president’s official website.
“I should also note that the Khachynchay reservoir is located directly at the foot of Mount Farrukh, in proximity to the Farrukh village, and the Armenian military positions threatened the operation of this reservoir, that is, they posed a great danger. Repeatedly from there and from other villages, fire was opened in the direction of Aghdam,” Aliyev said.
“Mount Farrukh, in my opinion, is now known across the world, and the great mountain of Azerbaijan, Mount Farrukh, is under our control today, the Azerbaijani flag is flying there. Mount Farrukh is of great importance for the security of Khachynchay and the use of this water.”
