Azerbaijani presidential rep met with head of Turkic Culture Foundation in Shusha PHOTO

President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova met with a special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district Aydin Karimov.

During the meeting, Raimkulova emphasized that she felt pride and joy in visiting Shusha for the first time, and heartily congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the great victory won in the 44-day Patriotic War, the Foundation told Azertag.

The head of the Foundation noted the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev, founder of the modern Azerbaijan state, who had great historical merits to the Turkic world, both at home and abroad.

For his part, Karimov wished success to the head of the organization in her new post and highly appreciated the solidarity between the brotherly Turkic peoples that has been strengthening in recent years.

The special representative of the President talked about the priority directions and goals of the State Program on reconstruction and rehabilitation works in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation.

Projects implemented by the Foundation to popularize Shusha, which is the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2023, in Turkic states and beyond, as well as joint activities of the Foundation and Shusha State Reserve Department in the current year, as well as directions of future partnership were discussed at the meeting.

It was also noted that the city of Shusha will become the centre of attention of the international community next year, as ISESCO declared it the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World 2024.

The president of the Foundation was informed about the damage caused to cultural monuments, historical sites and the city's appearance as a result of the almost 30-year occupation of Shusha, as well as was informed about the restoration and reconstruction works currently being carried out by the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Raimkulova underlined that the organization she heads is always ready to contribute to the reconstruction processes.
