Azerbaijani film shines in Glasgow, celebrating heritage, history
A screening of the Azerbaijani film “Miras” (Heritage) was recently held in Glasgow, Scotland, organized by the Caspian Circle.
The event offered an opportunity to showcase Azerbaijani culture and history to a local audience, emphasizing the nation's rich heritage, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Fuad Alakbarov, the head of the Caspian Circle, addressed the audience prior to the screening, providing insights into the film, which was produced by the Baku Media Centre. He also shared his vision for the future of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Scotland, highlighting the role of the community in strengthening ties between Azerbaijan and the UK.
Rashadat Aliyev, a prominent member of the Azerbaijani community in Glasgow, took the floor to discuss the achievements of Azerbaijani expatriates living in Scotland, underscoring the contributions of the community to both local and international spheres.
The film Miras focuses on the pivotal role of the Nobel brothers in the development of Azerbaijan, particularly in the context of the oil industry. It explores the lasting impact of their work on the region and beyond, while also shedding light on the historical significance of oil production in Baku.
The screening attracted a diverse audience, including members of the Azerbaijani community and representatives from universities in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dunfermline, and London. The event also served as a tribute to the martyrs of Azerbaijan's Patriotic War, honoring their memory with a moment of reflection.
