Malaysia's International Day Festival features Azerbaijan's rich cultural display PHOTO
Azerbaijan was proudly represented at the International Day Festival held at the International School of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
According to Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Diaspora, cited by local media, the event featured cultural exhibits from numerous countries, including Brazil, Malaysia, Singapore, Italy, Japan, Norway, Venezuela, India, China, Canada, the USA, Portugal, Yemen, South Korea, Egypt, Morocco, Thailand, Colombia, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
Azerbaijan’s participation was highlighted by a dedicated booth organised by Azerbaijani community activists Narmina Jabbarova and Aygun Bapna, whose children attend the school.
The booth showcased a variety of Azerbaijani cultural elements, including traditional kelaghai (silk scarves), national souvenirs, and an array of Azerbaijani dishes. Visitors were given the opportunity to learn about Azerbaijan’s rich history, culture, and culinary traditions, with Azerbaijani national dishes offered for tasting.
The event provided an important platform for promoting Azerbaijani culture abroad, contributing to greater recognition of the country on the international stage. It also fostered greater cultural exchange, helping to build mutual understanding and strengthen friendly ties between Azerbaijan and the participating countries.
Such initiatives, supported by diaspora organisations and activists, play a significant role in raising awareness about Azerbaijan and encouraging cultural diplomacy in foreign countries.
