Literary voices unite in Azerbaijan's Shusha for Vagif Poetry Days
The Vagif Poetry Days have officially opened in Azerbaijan's cultural capital of Shusha, bringing together prominent writers, poets, and cultural figures from across the Turkic world to celebrate the region's rich literary heritage.
The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Culture Adil Karimli, the President's Special Representative in the Shusha District Aydin Karimov, officials from the Ministry of Culture, representatives of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, and distinguished writers and poets from Turkic countries, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Addressing the event, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev described the Vagif Poetry Days as one of the most significant events in the fields of culture and literature.
Raev also highlighted the festival's extensive program and emphasized its contribution to strengthening cultural ties and literary cooperation among Turkic states.
People's Poet Vahid Aziz praised the high level of organization, noting that the Vagif Poetry Days have evolved into a cherished cultural tradition.
The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards to the winners of the "Tomorrow of the Word: Festival of Young Poets of the Turkic World," recognizing emerging literary talent from across the Turkic community.
The event concluded with a specially staged artistic performance celebrating poetry, culture, and the shared heritage of the Turkic world.
