Baku, Tbilisi explore new avenues for cultural cooperation
Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture Adil Karimli met with a Georgian delegation led by Giorgi Mirtskhulava, First Deputy Minister of Culture of Georgia, during the delegation's visit to Azerbaijan to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in the cultural sphere.
During the meeting, Karimli praised the steady development of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia across a wide range of sectors. He noted that, through the joint efforts of the two countries' leaders, bilateral ties have been elevated to the level of a strategic partnership, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
"This creates broad prospects for cooperation in the field of culture as well," the minister said.
Karimli also highlighted the significant progress achieved in recent years, particularly in the areas of theater and cinema, describing them as key pillars of the growing cultural partnership.
Mirtskhulava thanked the Azerbaijani side for its warm hospitality and conveyed the sincere greetings of Georgian Minister of Culture Tinatin Rukhadze to Karimli.
The Georgian official reaffirmed his country's interest in further strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation with Azerbaijan.
The sides also exchanged views on additional measures to deepen bilateral cultural ties and expand future cooperation.
The Georgian delegation is visiting Baku to participate in the third meeting of the Joint Working Group between the Ministries of Culture of Azerbaijan and Georgia.
