Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan deepen partnership in religious dialogue PHOTO
Bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, based on mutual trust and shared historical and cultural values, is successfully expanding across various fields, including religious education.
The issue was discussed in Tashkent during a meeting between Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations Ramin Mammadov and Head of the Department for Religious and Educational Affairs at the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan Muzaffar Kamilov, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The talks were also attended by Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Committee on Religious Affairs Sodik Toshboyev. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on experience-sharing between relevant state institutions of the two countries.
Special attention was paid to the implementation of joint projects and the further development of partnerships in the field of religious education.
The participants emphasised the important role of the 1st International Forum on Islamic Civilisation in promoting the rich Islamic heritage, strengthening educational traditions, and advancing intercultural dialogue.
Ramin Mammadov is visiting Tashkent to participate in the 1st International Islamic Civilisation Forum, titled “The Path of Peace, Tolerance and Enlightenment.” The event, organised by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation together with the Centre of Islamic Civilisation of Uzbekistan, is being held from July 6 to 8.
