07 June 2024 18:26

During Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Mejnun Mammadov's visit to Belarus, he met with Sergei Bartosh, the country's Minister of Agriculture and Food, to discuss cooperation opportunities in the agro-industrial sector.

The ministers exchanged perspectives on executing tasks outlined by their respective heads of state, emphasizing agreements made in the agrarian domain, Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry told Caliber.Az.

The dialogue encompassed topics such as establishing and managing agro-towns, developing agro-industrial complexes, fostering collaboration in animal husbandry, and enhancing agricultural and food product trade turnover. Both sides deliberated on transferring advanced agricultural technologies and implementing joint research and educational programs.

Furthermore, discussions encompassed urban and rural development, addressing mutual interests. Following the meeting, the Azerbaijani delegation visited Parohonsk, a prominent agrarian town in Brest voblast, to learn from Belarus' expertise in constructing and managing such communities. They toured the town's infrastructure and a cattle-breeding enterprise.

The delegation also attended the 34th International Specialised Exhibition "Belagro-2024" in Minsk, where they acquainted themselves with agricultural products, equipment, unmanned agricultural systems, and other innovations in livestock and agriculture.
