Baku to host European chapter of anti-doping conference
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has confirmed the dates for next year's Regional Symposium for Europe which will be hosted by the Azerbaijani capital.
The event will take place from March 18-19, 2026 and will will replace the agency’s traditional annual symposium and become part of its regional activities, Caliber.Az reports citing WADA.
The Baku symposium will bring together anti-doping organizations from the European continent, government representatives, international sports bodies, athletes, and their representatives. Its main goal is to discuss regional challenges related to the implementation of the new World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards, which will come into effect in 2027.
According to the WADA's depiction of their activities, the symposium is intended to serve as an important platform for sharing knowledge and experience among countries in the region and to make a significant contribution to the fight against doping in Europe.
