Baku to host “President’s Cup” sailing tournament

A sailing tournament titled the “President’s Cup,” dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, will be held in Baku on May 2–3.

According to Azerbaijan Water Sports Federation, the competition will take place along Primorsky Boulevard, one of the city’s key waterfront areas, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

More than 30 athletes representing the federation and the “Khazar” sailing club are expected to participate in the event.

Races will be held near the Yacht Club on Baku Boulevard and will feature two categories. Junior competitors will take part in the Optimist class, while youth sailors will compete in the ILCA4 class.

Winners and medalists will be awarded certificates and medals at the conclusion of the tournament.
