Belarus president to host Iranian counterpart in Minsk for strategic bilateral talks
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is set to host Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Minsk on August 20, during an official visit aimed at deepening strategic cooperation between the two nations.
The talks will take place at the Independence Palace and are scheduled to be held in both narrow and expanded formats, Caliber.Az reports, citing Belarus media.
The summit is expected to culminate in the signing of a series of bilateral agreements designed to strengthen political, economic, and technological ties between Belarus and Iran.
Discussions will center on a broad spectrum of cooperative initiatives, including trade, investment, and industrial collaboration. The two leaders will also explore joint ventures in science, technology, and education, highlighting the growing importance of innovation and academic exchange in their strategic agenda.
Coordination within international multilateral frameworks will also feature prominently. Belarus and Iran will assess their shared positions and potential collaborative roles within key global and regional organizations such as the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), BRICS, and the United Nations.
Issues of regional and international security will also be a key focus of the talks.
