China urges to hold dialogue to mitigate nuclear risks
02 September 2024 19:15
Spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Mao Ning has said that the world needs dialogue to address strategic nuclear risks.
Mao emphasised China's long-standing stance against the use of nuclear weapons and the prevention of nuclear war, Caliber.Az reports, citing the message posted on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
She stressed that, given the current global circumstances, all parties must exercise calm and restraint. Mao urged that through dialogue and consultations, efforts should be made collectively to reduce strategic risks. Her comments come in response to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov's recent statements about potential changes to Moscow's nuclear doctrine.
