Chinese diplomat commends Azerbaijan as reliable partner Amidst $3.1 billion trade increase in 2023
Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of China in Azerbaijan Ding Tao has highlighted that the bilateral trade volume between Azerbaijan and China reached $3.1 billion in 2023, marking a 43.5 per cent increase compared to 2022.
Tao made these comments during the conference entitled "Demonstration zone of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation - Promoting Logistics and Trade in Azerbaijan", Caliber.Az reports.
"The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and China increased by 43.5 per cent, reaching $3.1 billion as of 2023," he added.
Tao emphasised that Azerbaijan is a dependable and steady partner of China, and the two countries maintain a relationship characterised by conscientious friendship and strong partnership, based on principles of equality and mutual benefit.
"Despite changes in the international arena over the past 32 years of diplomatic relations, our countries' ties have continued to grow," he stressed.
Tao highlighted that the development of relations in Central Asia has been a significant milestone in the history of bilateral relations, contributing to stability and positive global development.
Furthermore, he noted that the inauguration of the first transport route from China to Europe via Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan marks the first time Chinese goods travel directly by road to coastal ports, then cross the sea on national vessels, and finally reach Europe.
Relations between Azerbaijan and China have strengthened significantly over the years, marked by robust cooperation across various domains.
