Chinese president sends warm Independence Day greetings, eyes closer cooperation with Azerbaijan
President of China, Xi Jinping, has extended warm congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day.
In a message Xi emphasized the strengthening of bilateral ties and reiterated China’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
"On the occasion of Azerbaijan’s Independence Day, I have the honor to extend to you—and, through you, to the friendly people of Azerbaijan—my sincere congratulations and best wishes," Xi stated.
The Chinese leader highlighted the significance of President Aliyev’s recent state visit to China, which culminated in the formal announcement of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations. Xi underscored this development as a pivotal step in bilateral relations.
"Last month, you paid a successful state visit to China, during which we jointly announced the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Azerbaijan. This important milestone has opened up new prospects and set new goals for the future development of our bilateral relations," he noted.
President Xi reaffirmed his strong interest in expanding China-Azerbaijan relations across various sectors. "I attach great importance to advancing China-Azerbaijan relations and stand ready to work with you to strengthen our multifaceted and mutually beneficial cooperation, elevate our bilateral ties to new heights, and contribute to the development of both our countries for the benefit of our peoples."
Concluding his message, Xi Jinping conveyed personal good wishes to President Aliyev and expressed hope for Azerbaijan’s continued success: "I wish you good health and continued success, and extend my wishes for lasting prosperity and strength to friendly Azerbaijan, as well as happiness and well-being to its people."
