Russia declares German EVZ Foundation "undesirable"
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia has officially recognised the German organization Stiftung Erinnerung, Verantwortung und Zukunft e.V. (EVZ), known in English as the Memory, Responsibility, and Future Foundation, as “undesirable” on Russian territory,
The office noted that while the foundation was originally established in Germany to provide compensation to victims of Nazi crimes during World War II through partner organizations, it has taken a politically biased, anti-Russian stance since the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, Caliber.Az writes via Russian media.
The foundation has called for support for Ukraine, organized fundraising efforts, and created an additional “solidarity budget” for the Kyiv regime.
Funding for the program targeting relatives of Nazi collaborators’ victims ceased in Russia in 2024. In 2025, the foundation’s board suspended the membership of its Russian representative.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the organization’s activities in recent years have aimed at undermining Russia’s sovereignty, escalating armed conflicts, spreading extremist ideas, and fostering negative attitudes toward the Russian people.
