CIS countries discuss military cooperation in Azerbaijan
Another meeting of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was held in Baku on October 12.
Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Major General Viktor Gulevich, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant General Marat Khusainov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan, Major General Erlis Terdikbayev, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan, Major General Shukhrat Kholmukhammedov, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel General Sergei Istrakov and Military Attaché of Tajikistan in the Russian Federation, Colonel Rustam Jumaev attended the meeting, Caliber.Az reports citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.
Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel-General Karim Valiyev delivered an opening speech at the meeting.
The results of military cooperation achieved this year, development prospects for the coming year, the issues of ensuring peace and security, and other topics of mutual interest were discussed during the event.
In conclusion, the final protocols were signed, and a decision was made to hold another meeting of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of the CIS member states in the Russian Federation in 2023.
