CoE Secretary General: Azerbaijan, Armenia hold encouraging meeting

Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejcinovic Buric has said that the meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is encouraging.

Pejcinovic Buric made these remarks in Yerevan following a meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Caliber.Az reports with reference to the Armenian media.

She also considers the statement that followed the meeting and the work of the commission on border delimitation and security as encouraging.

CE Secretary General noted that it is necessary to confidently move towards reconciliation and the initiatives aimed at its achievement are appreciated.

In this context, she noted the meeting of public representatives of the two countries in Venice in May 2022 under the auspices of the Council of Europe, expressed gratitude to the Armenian authorities for the assistance, and expressed readiness for further cooperation.
