Collective Security Treaty Organisation clarifies Armenia’s status
Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) Imangali Tasmagambetov has said that Armenia’s withdrawal from the organisation is out of the question at the moment.
“The Armenian side’s activity in the organisation is underway. Multilateral contacts within the CSTO are ongoing,” Tasmagambetov said, TASS reports.
The leaders of the CSTO member states signed a package of documents following the summit, which was held in Minsk.
It was also announced that the former commander of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Federation Andrey Serdyukov was appointed chief of the CSTO’s Joint Staff at the CSTO summit in Minsk.
Serdyukov was commander of the Russian Airborne Forces from 2016 to 2022. Afterward, he commanded the Russian group of troops in Syria.
