Contracts totaling $150 billion inked at Le Bourget Air Show
The total amount of contracts that were signed during the 54th International Air Show in Le Bourget amounted to $150 billion, which is $10 billion more than in 2019.
This was announced on June 25 evening by a group of the French aviation and space industry, which acts as the organiser of the event, TASS reports.
The largest deal of the air show was the sale of 500 Airbus A320neo aircraft to IndiGo. Officially, the value of the transaction was not disclosed, however, according to some reports, it could amount to about 55 billion euros.
In addition to a large portfolio of orders, the European aircraft manufacturer also announced an advanced development in the form of an auxiliary power plant for passenger aircraft, which will run on hydrogen. The technology, which should be the harbinger of a fully hydrogen liner, will be tested on a technological demonstrator called HyPower by 2025.
