COP20 president: Azerbaijan should lead with ambition at COP29
Global Leader of Climate and Energy at WWF and former COP20 president Manuel Pulgar-Vidal has urged Azerbaijan to enhance its efforts and galvanize all parties involved in the Framework Convention on Climate Change for a successful COP29 outcome.
"Azerbaijan, as the host of COP29, bears a significant responsibility and opportunity to drive forward the negotiations and leave a lasting legacy for future generations. To achieve an ambitious outcome, Azerbaijan should set clear deadlines, leverage expert advice, intensify financial negotiations, and maintain pressure on countries to meet their commitments," Pulgar-Vidal said, Caliber.Az reports citing the local media.
To recap, Baku will host the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
