The USMNT and the Lions of Teranga were the two sides celebrating most wildly on Tuesday, as they both booked trips to the World Cup Round of 16.
As we reached the spectacle of the final group games — and the tricky prospect for fans of following two simultaneous group deciders at once, there was everything to play for as Groups A and B were decided.
There was the predictable, as Netherlands blasted past Qatar 2-0 — the Arab nation now confirmed as the worst-performing hosts in history — and England beat local rivals Wales 3-0 on the back of a pair of Marcus Rashford strikes.
But then there was the drama that we know and love from the World Cup.
First, it was Senegal — who produced a late charge to see off Ecuador courtesy of Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly's 70th-minute goal — and then came the USA.
Christian Pulisic and Co. put their bodies on the line, quite literally in the case of the USMNT talisman, and held on after the Chelsea man's 38th-minute goal to secure second place in Group B, and a meeting with the Netherlands on Saturday.
England and Senegal will go head-to-head just over 24 hours later at the Al Bayt Stadium.
