Media: Xiaomi introduces iPhone-style features in HyperOS update
Xiaomi has introduced several features in its smartphones that resemble those previously found on Apple’s iPhone, according to the technology outlet XiaomiTime.
The publication reviewed the HyperOS 3.1 update, based on Android 16, and identified a number of interface changes that mirror elements of Apple’s iOS. Journalists noted that some of the newly added functions first appeared on the iPhone and were effectively adapted for Xiaomi’s operating system.
Among the changes is a redesigned “Recent Apps” menu, which now offers smoother navigation comparable to iOS. Scrolling through background applications triggers haptic feedback, a feature long associated with iPhones and intended to enhance the sense of responsiveness and premium build quality.
Xiaomi has also updated its Super Island interface, a screen cut-out inspired by Apple’s Dynamic Island. The revised feature now supports both native and third-party applications, allowing users to track orders and taxi rides, manage music playback, and use navigation services.
According to XiaomiTime, the update reflects user demand for iPhone-like fluidity combined with the flexibility of Android.
The beta version of HyperOS 3.1 was released earlier this week, while the public rollout is expected at a later stage.
