Drone attack on Russia's Saratov leaves two dead, damages residential buildings photo
A drone attack on the Russian city of Saratov has resulted in damage to several apartments in a residential building, with emergency services deployed at the scene to address the aftermath and carry out recovery work.
Saratov Region Governor Roman Busargin reported that two people were killed in the attack. He said residents whose property was damaged will be provided with financial assistance.
A temporary accommodation centre has been set up for residents of one of the building’s entrances. Authorities expect the main repair and cleanup work to be completed within the day, after which an additional technical inspection of the building will be conducted.

The attack also caused damage to social infrastructure, with windows shattered at a kindergarten and a polyclinic. Officials said no children or patients were inside the facilities at the time of the incident.
According to Russia’s Ministry of Defence, 28 hostile unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed over the Saratov region during the attack.
The previous drone strike on the region occurred on December 8, when Russian air defences shot down 12 drones over the Saratov region, the ministry said.
