Entrepreneurs from Khankendi, Shusha, and Khojaly convened for a meeting organized by the Karabakh Territorial Main Tax Department of the State Tax Service.
The gathering focused on the ongoing efforts to stimulate economic revival in the liberated territories, Caliber.Az reports.
Attendees, including micro and small business representatives, received information on various projects, as well as the unique tax and customs privileges available to residents in these areas, including state guarantees on loans and interest rate subsidies.
Alakbar Mammadov, head of the Karabakh Territorial Main Tax Department, outlined the government’s initiatives aimed at fostering entrepreneurship in the liberated regions. He discussed tax incentives for resident entrepreneurs and recent amendments to the Tax Code.
The meeting also provided a platform for entrepreneurs to ask questions and seek clarification on various topics.
On October 12, Shusha played host for the “Islamic Architectural Heritage of Shusha” symposium, organized by the Department of the State Reserve of Shusha in collaboration with ISESCO. This event is part of an action plan developed after Shusha was named the cultural capital of the Islamic world for 2024.
The symposium attracted over 80 architects from countries including Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Egypt, the UAE, Tunisia, Kenya, Jordan, Italy, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and the UK. Participants gained insights into ongoing infrastructure projects and restoration efforts in Shusha, known for its rich historical and cultural heritage, and were given a city tour.
Discussions at the symposium covered topics such as “Regeneration of Historic Urban Texture,” “Modern Life of Monuments,” and “Sustainable Architecture, Materials, Projects, and Performance,” concluding on October 13.
