EU should lift blockade from Russia’s Kaliningrad Otherwise, Russia to solve this problem "by any means"
Chairman of the Federation Council’s Interim Commission for the Protection of State Sovereignty and Prevention of Interference in the Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrei Klimov has said that if the European Union (EU) does not improve the situation with the "blockade" of Russia’s Kaliningrad region by Lithuania, then Russia may solve this problem "by any means".
“This decision concerns the supply of products by railway blacklisted by the EU,” he wrote on Telegram.
He criticised the decision of the Lithuanian authorities to block the transit of goods through Lithuania.
Klimov notes that Lithuania was admitted to NATO "taking into account the problem with transit through Kaliningrad".
The chairman added that "the unacceptable actions of Vilnius endangers this entire military-political bloc".
Klimov is sure that NATO "de jure launches an unacceptable blockade of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation through one of its member states.
“The latter can be assessed as direct aggression against Russia, literally forcing us to urgently resort to proper self-defence,” he added.
So far, the authorities of the Kaliningrad region have reported that the goods which are banned to be transited through Lithuania will be transported by ship. They will be redistributed for shipping, taking into account ferries.
