Explosion at oil factory in Türkiye’s organised industrial zone injures ten PHOTO
An explosion in the boiler room of an oil factory located in the Organised Industrial Zone of Afyonkarahisar, Türkiye, left ten people injured, including one in serious condition.
Emergency teams, including health workers, police, firefighters, and disaster response units from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), were dispatched to the scene immediately after the incident. The injured were taken to hospitals across the city by ambulance, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media.
Afyonkarahisar Deputy Governor İhsan Ayrancı, AFAD Provincial Director Ali Altındal, and Provincial Health Director Hakkı Öztürk visited the factory to inspect the site and assess the situation.

Following the inspection, Deputy Governor Ayrancı said that the explosion was caused by gas used in the factory’s boiler room. He explained that one of the injured was in serious but not life-threatening condition, while the others were reported to be in stable condition.
Ayrancı noted that five ambulances, four AFAD teams, and five fire trucks responded swiftly to the scene. He stated that there was no ongoing risk at the facility and clarified that the explosion occurred at a non-operational factory during maintenance work on machinery and equipment.
