FM: Azerbaijan remains committed to OSCE principles
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has said that from the first days of joining the OSCE, Azerbaijan has been an active participant there and remains committed to the OSCE’s principles.
Bayramov made these remarks at a press conference on April 12 after the meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Bujar Osmani, Report informs.
He noted that the OSCE’s priorities coincide with Azerbaijan’s goals and priorities, such as combating climate change, gender equality, etc.
The Azerbaijani minister said as a result of Armenia’s destructive position, direct contacts within the process of normalising relations between Baku and Yerevan have been terminated since December 2022.
“International mediators are trying to bring Armenia back to the negotiating table. Consistent steps are being taken in this sphere. We called on Yerevan to resume the negotiations,” Bayramov said.
He added that the issue related to the normalisation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan was discussed at a meeting with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.
