FM Bayramov considers prospects for cooperation between Baku, Washington as "vast"

"Their equality, mutual respect, cooperation in energy security, fight against international crime and peacekeeping operations between Azerbaijan and the USA should be noted”.

According to APA, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated this during a press conference on December 27 devoted to the results of 2022, answering a question about the priorities of Azerbaijan’s relations with the USA.

Minister Bayramov said that the successful energy policy of Azerbaijan makes a great contribution to its relations with Europe, adding, that “the USA has provided huge political support to these projects, and American companies have taken part in these projects”.

The minister noted that there is a very intensive dialogue between the USA and Azerbaijan: “The USA made important initiatives related to the mediation in ensuring sustainable peace in the region. A meeting between representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia was held under US mediation, and the second round of Azerbaijani-Armenian peace talks was held in Washington. The US is also quite active in contributing to the peace process”.

While recalling his phone calls of Secretary of State Anthony Blinken throughout the year and Foreign Policy Adviser Hikmet Hajiyev’s meeting with the US president’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan together with the Secretary of the Armenian Security Council Armen Grigoryan in the USA, he stressed that the prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the USA are vast.
