Generators and heating units from Azerbaijan reach Ukraine's Irpin photo
Equipment sent by Azerbaijan to help restore Ukraine’s energy infrastructure has been delivered to the city of Irpin.
According to domestic media, the handover ceremony was attended by Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliyev, Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Mykola Kalashnyk, and Ukraine’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Yuriy Husyev.
It was noted during the event that Azerbaijan has sent 17 generators, four portable power systems, and three heating units on this occasion. The assistance was described as another clear example of genuine solidarity and brotherly support during a difficult period for Ukraine. The energy equipment will be transferred to the State Emergency Service.
Mykola Kalashnyk expressed gratitude to the people and government of Azerbaijan for their continued support since the start of Russia’s war against Ukraine. “In this difficult period, when the enemy continues to strike critical infrastructure, the people of Ukraine are in great need of generators. They provide essential services to the population — water supply, heating, and electricity,” he said.
It was recalled that a state of emergency has been in effect in Kyiv since early January due to the energy crisis. The total value of Azerbaijan’s humanitarian assistance to Ukraine has now reached approximately $45 million.
