Georgia’s growth tied to peace in Azerbaijan, says parliament vice-speaker
Georgia’s development is impossible without peace in Azerbaijan, and vice versa, Georgia’s Parliament Vice-Speaker Sozar Subari stated.
He made these remarks while speaking to Imedi TV about the current political situation in the South Caucasus and the region's importance in world politics, Caliber.Az reports per Georgian media.
Subari highlighted that projects launched 30 years ago continue to underpin stability in both countries, citing the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, and the Southern Gas Corridor through Georgia.
He added that when projects like these pass through Georgia, it indicates that many nations have a stake in maintaining peace in the country, and that anyone familiar with geopolitics understands such projects would be impossible without Georgia.
“In today’s context, it is crucial that our countries are connected through very close economic ties; Georgia cannot develop without peace in Azerbaijan, and similarly, Azerbaijan cannot prosper without stability in Georgia,” Subari emphasised.
