Georgian, Armenian lawmakers discuss Baku-Yerevan peace process
First Deputy Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Gia Volski, held a high-level meeting with Sisak Gabrielyan, Chair of the Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Sport, and Youth Committee at the National Assembly of Armenia, to discuss regional cooperation and the ongoing peace process between Baku and Yerevan.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties, promoting friendship and cooperation, and addressing key regional issues, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Volski highlighted the importance of the ongoing negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, noting the role of the United States in supporting the process. “The negotiation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, supported by the United States, holds special significance for establishing peace in the South Caucasus. We hope that these talks will conclude successfully,” he said.
Both Georgian and Armenian officials also underscored the need to expand collaboration in the fields of education and culture, emphasizing that enhanced cooperation in these areas could foster stronger people-to-people ties between the two countries.
