Georgian Military Road closed to trucks due to bad weather

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia’s North Ossetia has said that the Georgian Military Road was temporarily closed for trucks due to bad weather conditions in Georgia.

“The heavy vehicles are banned from moving in the section between North Ossetia’s Vladikavkaz city and Lars settlement to leave the Russian Federation from 08:50 (GMT+3) on December 22, 2023, until further notice due to bad weather conditions in Georgia,” Interfax reports citing the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of North Ossetia.

The Georgian Military Road is currently the only onshore route connecting not only Georgia, but also Armenia with Russia.
