Georgian president rejects to attend diplomatic conference due to protocol breaches
President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili did not attend the conference organized by the country’s Foreign Ministry with the participation of the ambassadors abroad.
The reason turned out to be a breach of protocol, Report informs, citing the Georgian Presidential Administration.
"It is unacceptable that there was a gross violation of state and diplomatic protocol at an event of state institutions, moreover at a diplomatic conference organised by the Georgian Foreign Ministry...," the administration explained.
The administration clarified that such a violation was the fact that the event’s organizer did not identify a place for Georgia’s president appropriate to her status.
The annual two-day "Ambassadors Conference 2022" kicked off at the Georgian Foreign Ministry on December 26.
