Iran nuclear talks could reach swift agreement, adviser says
Iran could reach a swift agreement in nuclear negotiations if the main issue is Tehran’s commitment not to build nuclear weapons, a veteran security official and longtime adviser to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said on February 26.
“If the main issue in the negotiations is Iran’s non-development of nuclear weapons, this is in line with the Leader’s fatwa and Iran’s defense doctrine, and an immediate agreement is within reach,” Ali Shamkhani wrote in a post on X, Caliber.Az reports.
If the main issue in the negotiations is Iran not developing nuclear weapons, this aligns with #Leader_Fatwa and #Iran_Defensive_Doctrine, and an immediate agreement is within reach. #Araqchi has sufficient support and authority for this deal.

Shamkhani’s remarks come as US and Iranian negotiators meet in Geneva for the third round of Oman-mediated talks, amid a massive buildup of US warships and aircraft in the Middle East.
