Great Return: Azerbaijan resettles more former IDPs to native Fuzuli
Another group of former IDPs has been sent to the rebuilt town of Fuzuli on the orders of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Report, the residents of Fuzuli, who had been living temporarily in hostels, sanatoriums, children's camps, unfinished buildings and administrative buildings in various districts of the country, left the Gobu Park 3 housing complex in the Garadagh district of Baku on March 27 for their home town.
At present, 134 people from 35 families are returning to Fuzuli.
As a result of the brilliant victory of the Azerbaijani Army in the Patriotic War under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the former IDPs have an opportunity to return to their homeland voluntarily, safely and honourably after 30 years.
The residents of Fuzuli, which is becoming more and more beautiful, expressed their gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the all-round care of the state, thanked the brave Azerbaijani army for liberating our lands from occupation, wished repose to the souls of the heroes who died for this lofty goal.
It should be noted that now 631 families (2,379 people) have permanently settled in Fuzuli.
Under the decree signed in November 2022 by President Aliyev approving the "First State Program on the Great Return to Azerbaijan's liberated territories”, a total of 280,000 hectares (692,000 acres) of lands in the Karabakh and East Zangazur regions will be readied for resettlement by 2026.
By 2026, a total of 34,500 families will be relocated to the Karabakh and East Zangazur regions. To accommodate them, 34,500 apartments and private houses will be built by 2026.
