Helicopters practice fire support during winter drills in Türkiye PHOTO
As part of the largest Winter Exercises-2023 in the history of Türkiye, a scenario of infiltration of special units into the enemy camp with helicopter fire support was worked out on January 31.
Two Atak attack helicopters, three Cougar helicopters and two C-70 helicopters were involved in the manoeuvres, Anadolu reports.
The combat vehicles successfully hit the set targets, the area was cleared of a conditional enemy.
Then special forces units from various countries, including Türkiye, Italy and Kosovo, landed from helicopters.
The landing commandos on skis combed the area.
As part of the exercises, precise strikes with CIRIT cruise missiles were carried out on the targets of a conditional enemy. The firing was carried out using a fire control and guidance system developed by the Turkish company Aselsan.
Some 1,758 servicemen from 17 countries, including Germany, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom, are participating in the exercises in Kars province.
