Hungary's Orban lambasts Brussels for aggressive stance on Ukraine conflict
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban criticized the European Union's leadership in Brussels, accusing them of aggressively pushing for military involvement in Ukraine without considering Europe's limited resources and capabilities.
Orban expressed these concerns in an article published in the Magyar Nemzet newspaper, Caliber.Az reports.
Orban argued that the EU's current trajectory has led to war, migration issues, and economic stagnation instead of fostering peace, stability, and growth. He blamed Brussels' bureaucratic decisions for exacerbating these challenges, asserting that Europe stands to lose significantly without gaining anything substantial from its involvement in the conflict.
According to Orban, Brussels bureaucrats are actively driving the war effort against Russia, with European taxpayers' money flowing into Ukraine and sanctions adversely affecting European businesses and citizens. He criticized these policies for increasing inflation and jeopardizing livelihoods across the continent.
Moreover, Orban highlighted that the EU's competitiveness has suffered as a result, forcing compromises with major trading partners and delaying efforts towards a green economy.
