Iran, Armenia, India to hold foreign office consultations in Tehran
India, Iran and Armenia will hold foreign office consultations this week in Tehran aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
The talks are expected to cover a range of issues, including boosting operations at Chabahar Port and advancing the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), according to sources familiar with the matter, Caliber.Az reports, citing Indian media.
This will be the first structured dialogue between the two nations since the military conflict involving Iran and the US-Israel coalition in June.
Observers note that the trilateral meeting may also provide an opportunity to receive a briefing on the recent peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
On September 6, India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Iran’s SNSC Secretary Ali Larijani held a telephone call ahead of Larijani’s planned visit to New Delhi. During the conversation, the two officials discussed expanding economic cooperation, security and defence ties, and the development of the Chabahar Port project, according to an Iranian readout.
