Iran says it's gathering evidence for lawsuits against Israel, US
Iran’s judiciary has announced that it has begun collecting information and documenting what it described as “crimes committed by Israel and the United States,” with the aim of pursuing legal cases in international courts.
The judiciary spokesperson, Asghar Jahangir, said the Prosecutor General’s Office of Iran has formed special teams and issued nationwide instructions to gather evidence and begin documentation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian opposition media.
The process, the official said, was initiated from the very start of the 12-day war.
The war began on June 13, 2025, with large-scale Israeli airstrikes on Iran's Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan nuclear facilities, missile sites, air defences, and military infrastructure. Israel conducted around 1,500 sorties targeting over 150 locations across 27 provinces.
Iran retaliated with over 500 ballistic missiles and around 1,000 drones in "Operation True Promise III," causing damage in Israel but with many intercepted or falling short. In support for Israel, the United States conducted strikes on Iranian nuclear sitesc
