Iran vows retaliation for Haniyeh's assassination Rejects media provocations
In a firm statement broadcast on IRIB TV, Iran's Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri, declared that his country will independently determine the timing and nature of its response to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas' political bureau.
Bagheri emphasized that Iran will not be influenced by media provocations, asserting that retaliation for what he termed a "criminal act" is inevitable, Caliber.Az reports per Iranian sources.
Bagheri also underscored that the "Axis of Resistance," which includes Iranian-backed groups and allies in the region, will have the autonomy to choose its own methods and scale of retaliation.
His comments followed a recent rocket attack on Israeli territory by Hezbollah, a Lebanese Shiite militant group, which is part of the broader resistance network.
