Iranian President Pezeshkian to attend UN General Assembly in New York
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to leave Tehran for New York on September 22 to attend the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the event, Pezeshkian is set to deliver a speech and engage in several meetings with international officials, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
He is scheduled to address the General Assembly on September 24. Additionally, Pezeshkian plans to meet with Iranian expatriates in US, leaders of various religions, media executives, and members of American think tanks.
He will also speak at the Summit of the Future, an event focused on establishing new agreements to address the needs of both present and future generations.
Notably, during the inauguration ceremony on July 30, Iran's new president Masoud Pezeshkian outlined his vision for Iran as a leading regional power in economic, scientific, and technological fields.
He condemned Israeli actions in Gaza and criticized Western arms support to Israel. Pezeshkian reiterated Iran's readiness to negotiate with world powers on lifting sanctions, affirming that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful.
Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran's commitment to its obligations under the nuclear deal, calling on Western nations to respect Iran’s position and stating that pressure and sanctions are ineffective.
