Iraqi PM, Azerbaijani transport minister discuss bolstering versatile cooperation During joint business forum in Baghdad
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani has met in Baghdad with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev, who is visiting Iraq to participate in the third round of the Iraqi-Azerbaijani Joint Committee meetings, accompanied by a delegation of Azerbaijani businessmen.
During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, and efforts were made to enhance cooperation in the fields of energy, education, communications, infrastructure, housing development, and defence industries, according to Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Al-Sudani emphasized the positive and tangible steps in the relations between the two friendly countries.
He specifically highlighted the Strategic Development Road Project, expressing optimism about its contribution to economic development for the region and the world.
In the context of addressing the events in Gaza, Prime Minister Al-Sudani commended the Secretary-General of the United Nations for utilizing Article 99 of the United Nations Charter.
Additionally, he called on Islamic countries to support this initiative.
For his part, Nabiyev conveyed greetings from President Ilham Aliyev and expressed Azerbaijan's desire to enhance bilateral relations with Iraq.
Moreover, Azerbaijan expressed readiness to involve its major companies in the Iraqi economy and offered to sponsor Iraqi students studying in Azerbaijani military academies.
