Georgia triples imports of Azerbaijani oil, statistics office says
Georgia imported 55,600 tonnes of oil and petroleum products from Azerbaijan worth $52.6 million in January–May 2026, marking a threefold increase in volume and a fourfold rise in value compared to the same period last year, according to Georgia’s National Statistics Office.
It said Azerbaijan ranked fourth among oil and petroleum product suppliers to Georgia during the reporting period, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Overall, Georgia imported 737,800 tonnes of oil and petroleum products worth $635.5 million.
The main suppliers were Russia (309,400 tonnes worth $220 million), Türkiye (67,300 tonnes worth $84.4 million), Romania (77,400 tonnes worth $61.5 million), and Bulgaria (50,000 tonnes worth $44.1 million).
In 2025, Georgia imported 172,000 tonnes of oil and petroleum products from Azerbaijan worth $118 million.
