Israel bars advanced technology from F-35s intended for Türkiye, deputy FM says
Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel has stated that advanced Israeli technology will not be included in the F-35 fighter jets that Türkiye plans to acquire.
In an interview with the Greek newspaper Kathimerini, she said that Israel opposes a potential agreement between Washington and Ankara for the supply of these aircraft, Caliber.Az reports.
Haskel noted that a significant portion of the advanced technology used in the F-35 originates from Israel.
“This technology will not be present in the F-35s that Türkiye may receive,” she emphasised.
The deputy foreign minister added that Israel’s position on the matter is clear, and any potential U.S.–Türkiye deal regarding the F-35 is met with caution and disapproval in Tel Aviv.
Haskel also highlighted the strategic importance of trilateral cooperation between Israel, Greece, and Cyprus for Tel Aviv, expressing her intent to work with “constructive forces” in the region.
Additionally, she announced that Israel has decided to begin the first phase of a project to establish an electric connection with Cyprus.
“We are not waiting for all processes between Greece and Cyprus to be fully completed. Israel is taking responsibility and preparing to implement the agreement,” Haskel stated.
