Kazakhstan, Armenia implement visa-free travel agreement
Kazakhstan and Armenia have officially introduced a visa-free travel regime, following the signing of a new law by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
According to the presidential press service, cited by Caliber.Az, the head of state signed the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the ratification of the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Armenia on Travel and the Order of Stay of Citizens.”
Under the agreement, citizens of Kazakhstan and Armenia can now travel freely to the other country without a visa. The permitted stay remains 90 days from the date of entry, with the total duration not exceeding 90 days within any six-month period.
After this period, Armenian citizens wishing to remain in Kazakhstan for work, study, business, family reunification, or other purposes will need to obtain a temporary residence permit. Previously, such stays required a visa.
