Kazakhstan, Czech Republic pledge to deepen economic cooperation
Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic have pledged to expand economic cooperation following the Kazakhstan–Czech Business Forum, where officials highlighted growing trade, investment, and industrial ties between the two countries.
Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektanov said trade and investment relations had strengthened and expressed government readiness to support new joint projects and further economic engagement, Caliber.Az reports per Kazakh media.
According to Bektanov, the forum is expected to serve as a foundation for enhancing bilateral economic relations.
He said that in 2025, trade between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic exceeded $705 million. Czech investment in Kazakhstan has reached $431 million since 2005, with more than one third of that total invested over the past three years. He also noted that 143 Czech-linked companies are operating in Kazakhstan, supporting around 1,000 jobs.
“We view the Czech Republic as a highly developed industrial country and plan to expand cooperation across all sectors of the economy. The Government of Kazakhstan is ready to provide the necessary support for the implementation of new industrial projects,” Bektanov said.
He added that Kazakhstan remains open to long-term investment and considers trust-based engagement with investors a central part of state policy.
The discussions follow a recent meeting between Bektanov and Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, during which both sides reviewed opportunities to expand cooperation in trade, investment, industry, energy, transport and logistics, digital development, and humanitarian areas.
“The Czech Republic wishes to cooperate with Kazakhstan in the chemical industry, the energy sector and water resources,” Babiš said.
