Kremlin announces date for “inclusion of new territories” into Russia
The signing ceremony of the treaties “on entry” into the Russian Federation of new territories will be held in the Kremlin at 15:00 local time on September 30.
The announcement came from Russia’s Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov on September 29, according to TASS.
“Tomorrow, in the Grand Kremlin Palace, in St. George Hall, at 15:00, a ceremony will be held to sign agreements on the entry of new territories into the Russian Federation. There will be a voluminous speech by President [Vladimir] Putin at this event. This is not a message from the president to the Federal Assembly, it is very important not to confuse. This is a different format, the president’s message will take place later, we will announce it in due time,” Peskov said.
The Kremlin spokesman noted that agreements "on the entry" of territories into the Russian Federation will be signed before consideration of related issues by the Federation Council.
“In any case, a signing will come first,” Peskov confirmed, answering a relevant question.
Putin will meet with the "heads" of the so-called "LPR" (Luhansk People’s Republic), "DPR" (Donetsk People’s Republic), Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions in the Kremlin, on the sidelines of the ceremony of accepting these territories into Russia.
