Kremlin says it detailed all conditions to US on ceasefire in Ukraine
Russian President’s Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov has said that Moscow has brought all the nuances concerning the implementation of US President Donald Trump's idea of a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine to Washington in detail.
“Had the opportunity to bring in detail to the American side those nuances in the context of a possible ceasefire that President Putin mentioned,” the Kremlin spokesman said, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
However, these topics are quite sensitive and “are subject to in-depth study at the bilateral level and should hardly be the object of public discussions,” he continued.
To recall, US President Donald Trump proposed a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine during a lengthy phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. While a complete ceasefire was not achieved, both leaders agreed to a temporary halt on attacks targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
During the call, Putin expressed willingness to pause strikes on energy facilities for 30 days but stipulated that a full ceasefire would require Ukraine's international allies to cease military aid and intelligence support to Kyiv.
This condition was viewed as bold and unlikely to be met, leading to scepticism about the feasibility of a comprehensive ceasefire.
Despite the partial agreement, reports indicate that Russian forces resumed attacks in Ukraine shortly after the ceasefire was announced, raising concerns about Russia's commitment to the truce.
