Kremlin: West trying to destabilise situation around Karabakh
Russian presidential spokesman Dimitry Peskov has said that some Western countries are trying to destabilise the situation around Karabakh and are fighting against Russia in the region "with an open visor".
Peskov made the remarks on air of Rossiya-1 TV channel in an interview with the program "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin", Report informs.
"Somewhere, probably 3, 4, 5 years ago, such a fight was conducted with diplomatic masks on. Now these masks have long since been dropped, and the fight is being waged head-on directly, with an open visor," the Kremlin spokesman said in a conversation with journalist Pavel Zarubin, commenting on statements by Western politicians about "the task to expel Russian peacekeepers, Russian military from the region, to sever ties between Russia and Armenia."
"Indeed, a number of countries are still trying to destabilise the situation around Karabakh, which, by the way, has led to the fact that the Azerbaijani side officially stated that this number of countries can hardly claim any role of mediators because they have taken a one-sided position. And, of course, having taken this position, it is both impossible and inappropriate to claim for something," Peskov concluded.
